In 2011, Hines was selected by São Carlos, a large, publically traded Brazilian real estate company, to manage the redevelopment of Barros Loureiro. Located in the heart of São Paulo, Barros Loureiro is a 12-story, 120,556-square-foot office building originally developed in 1978. The project will include a substantial renovation and upgrade of the building's façade, common areas and mechanical systems, and construction of an additional 97,000-square-foot parking garage. Redevelopment is expected to be completed in May 2014. The project will seek LEED® certification.
